Narsapuram: Former Vice-Chancellor of JNTU Kakinada, Prof.Allam Appa Rao exhorted the alumni of Sri YN College, to play an active role to support their alma mater.

As part of its silver jubilee celebrations, the college also conducted an alumni reunion here on Sunday, and felicitated alumni who had scaled top positions in their professions. Speaking on the occasion, Appa Rao said the role of the alumni provides the required balance in the array of stakeholders, as they are part of the legacy of the institution. They should enthusiastically participate to support the academic programmes with their expertise and experience and to help in the development of infrastructure, he added.

“Alumni are a real asset for any institution. They can significantly contribute to development of college not just in monetary terms but by also organising several initiatives,” Appa Rao said.

He said the alumni have continuously supported the college in terms of workshops, guest lectures, campus interviews and sponsorships. The Alumni Association will continue to be a pillar of support to the college in all its innovative initiatives, he added. Former IAS officer Dr K Lakshminarayana, college secretary and correspondent Dr C Satyanarayana Rao, AIMSCS, Hyderabad, CR Rao were also present.
