Pamulapadu (Kurnool): About 27 lakh women members of self-help groups in the State would be covered under the digital literacy programme by the end of the current financial year, said Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) Director Madhusudhana Rao. Speaking to newsmen here on Saturday, he said rural women would be trained in basic operation of computers, mobile phones and other electronic gadgets as part of the digital literacy programme.

Listing out the initiatives taken by SERP for alleviation of poverty and empowerment of rural women, he expressed his confidence that the set targets for the current fiscal would be met. Later, he participated in the third phase of Janmabhoomi – Maa Vooru programme at Vanala village in Pamulapadu mandal, along with MPDO Sudhakaraiah and other officials.
