The country’s economic development is possible with small and medium scale industries occupy second place after agriculture, observed Special Officer of Andhra Pradesh State Micro and Small Scale Industries Dr Chukka Kondaiah.
Visakhapatnam: The country’s economic development is possible with small and medium scale industries occupy second place after agriculture, observed Special Officer of Andhra Pradesh State Micro and Small Scale Industries Dr Chukka Kondaiah.
He was participating in an awareness meeting organised by the Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises (FSME) at Autonagar here on Sunday.
Dr Kondaiah called upon the industrialists to set up industries not for the sake of subsidies or other benefits from the governments but to work hard with a motto of ‘My industry is my temple’.
Pointing out that there was a lot of change in the attitude of youth in the country, he informed that a majority of them were coming forward with a specific concept of setting up of industries. There were 20 different industrial departments working under Central government to encourage the industrial sector. Both Central and State governments were giving lot of subsidies to small and medium scale industries. If industrial federations and associations play a key role, there would be a bright future for such enterprises, Dr Kondaiah added.
National president of Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises (FSME) A P K Reddy claimed that the FSME had been working as a bridge between the governments and the upcoming entrepreneurs. If the governments provide technical knowhow and marketing assistance, no doubt all small and medium scale industries would prosper, he said. They could even fulfill the initiatives of both Central and State governments-- ‘Make in India’ --to achieve Swarnandhra Pradesh.
Reddy called upon the entrepreneurs to know their responsibilities and contributions for the national development when they were seeking various rights and subsidies.
Among others, Regional Manager of Syndicate Bank A Sambi Reddy, dean of Vignan Educational Institutions Dr Rudra Pratap Das, FSME director K R K Prasad, National Small Industries Corporation senior manager R Veerabhadra Rao, FSME AP Chapter vice-president Y Vidyasagar and Uttarandhra convener G S Sivaiah were present.
