Vijayawada: Come March, those building a house need not run from pillar to post to get an approval for their building plan. A click on your computer could do the job for you as the State government is set to digitise the approval process in all 110 municipalities in the State.
The system which is already in use, though in a limited manner, will be now extended to entire State, Minister for Municipal Administration P Narayana told press persons here on Friday.Though online building plan approval system, launched sometime back, in Vijayawada had some teething problems, the initial hurdles are sorted out, and system is running successfully, the minister said.
Of the 180 applications received online in Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, 85 applications were cleared. Similarly, six out of 26 in Vishakapatnam, one out of 14 in Guntur, and one application received in Vizianagaram Municipal Corporation were cleared successfully, the Minister informed.
He said anyone with CAD software could apply for building plans online. The idea is aimed at ending human interference and corruption, he added. No extension for regularisationThe minister said that there would be no extension of building penalisation scheme, and the last date for BPS is January 31.
He said officials would verify the structures within six months after receiving BPS application and regularise the buildings as per the norms. A total of 53,131 BPS applications were received seeking regularisation for residential structures and 4,595 applications for commercial structures.
He said a total of 71,703 BPS applications received so far.The Minister said that 2.5 lakh students were present in municipal schools and they are conducting foundation courses for 4000 students. He said there was a demand from parents to conduct foundation courses for students of class VI and VII while the teachers are conducting the programme for students of Class VIII, IX, and X. The Minister said that they were taking the support of MEPMA members to conduct the foundation courses in municipal schools.
