Nellore: Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof V Veeraiah said that various British universities have envisaged interest to collaborate with the VSU.

Explained details of his recent visit to London at a programme organised in the university campus on Monday, Veeraiah said that he was part of eight-member delegation comprising HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Principal Secretary of Higher Education Sumita Dawra along with the five Vice-Chancellors of Andhra Pradesh, who went on an academic visit to UK.

The V-C said that British Council, London, informed the 8-member delegation about the Newton-Bhabha Education fund for promoting students to study abroad and the faculty exchange programme.

“During the visit to Heriot-Watt University at Edinburgh, the foreign institute showed interest in starting a new course of MBA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management in VSU,” he added.

Veeraiah said that the University of West Scotland Paisely at Scotland showed interest in research collaboration and faculty exchange in Nano Technology and University of East Anglia at Norwich has came forward for research collaboration in Social Work. He said that the visit was fruitful and students and faculty will benefit with collaborations. VSU Registrar Prof PR Sivasankar was also present.
