Tirupati: Police on Tuesday arrested Muthyala Ravi alias Guntur Ravi (33), who was wanted in two murder cases. Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Tirupati East DSP Murali Krishna said that Ravi, who is native of Guddubatapalli in Chapadu mandal, Kadapa district turned a wayward after working as a building worker and engaged in catering for some time. Addicted to vices and moving with criminals, he indulged in many crimes in Guntur, Vijayawada and also in Tirupati for the sake of money.

He attacked Somu indiscriminately with a blade, leaving him grievously injured and leading to his death in a hospital later. Two others, who helped Ravi, to murder Somu were arrested but he was managed to escape and was evading police since then.

He was also involved in another case of attack on his friend D Purushottam for the same reason of not giving him money when he demanded. Murali Kirshna said Tirupati Urban SP Gopinath Jatti has appreciated the police team responsible for the arrest of Ravi and also announced rewards to them.
