Amaravati: Farmers on Tuesday locked the CRDA office in Neerukonda village under Mangalagiri mandal and protested against irregularities committed by the officials. They alleged that the officials and ruling party leaders were encroaching the lands for which there were no legal heirs and creating bogus pattadar passbooks and selling the lands.
Addressing the gathering, farmer Nutakki Prasad said that though they complained to the higher officials on the irregularities committed by some officials, the higher officials were not taking action against the corrupt officials. He demanded action against the corrupt officials. He said he has been taking up cultivation in his land for over 30 years.
The officials have created bogus pattadar passbooks and were selling the lands, he alleged. Prasad demanded action against special deputy collector Sarada. Later, the local farmers sent the CRDA officials out and locked the office and raised slogans against the officials. It may be mentioned that MLA A Ramakrisha Reddy has already lodged complaints with the district administration, Vigilance and Enforcement SP and Director General of Vigilance and Enforcement Department.
In a complaint lodged with the vigilance officials, the MLA alleged that the officials and ruling party leaders encroached the lands for which there were no legal heirs and created bogus pattadar passbooks. He said, so far they have created bogus pattadar passbooks for 500 acres of land in Mangalagiri Assembly constituency. He demanded an inquiry by senior officials into the irregularities committed by the officials.
