Kothapalli (Kurnool): About 2.93 lakh fish seedlings of Katla and Rohu species were released into the backwaters of Srisailam reservoir at Sangameswaram on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Director of Fisheries P Srihari said the fish seedlings were released into the reservoir under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY).
The fish seedlings come to harvest in six months. Fishermen without valid licence should not catch fish in the reservoir, he said. Atmakur fisheries development officer J Mallikharjuna and other officials were present.
