Budvel: Red sanders wood cutters pelted stones at police near Boyanapalli forest area when the latter warned them to surrender.

According to Budvel CI Ramanjaneya Naik, a team of police personnel went to seize stashed red sanders logs at Boyanapalli forest after on a tip-off. After reaching the spot, the police spotted nearly 12 wood cutters who have been waiting for their vehicle for transport the logs. Immediately, the police personnel warned the wood cutters to surrender, but in turn, the wood cutters started pelting stones at the police team and fled into the forest.

However, the police were able to arrest two wood cutters and seized 15 logs from their possesion worth Rs 10 lakh. The police seized six axes which they found with the wood cutters. The arrested were produced before the court and they were sent to judicial remand.
