Vijayawada: BJP State president and Visakhapatnam MP Kambhampati Haribabu asked the rank and file of the party to appraise the people about the programmes and schemes of the Central government.
Addressing the party district unit presidents from the State, Haribabu said that the Central government had given huge amount of money to the State under various schemes during the past 20 months.
He wanted them to understand every scheme and explain it to the people. He wanted them to visit every house in every village and make people understand the BJP’s concern for the State after bifurcation. “Don’t expect other party (TDP) to tell about our party and the Central government’s contribution to the State,” he told them reacting to complaints from some members who said that the TDP was not giving due credit to the BJP-led government at the Centre.
He wanted the party leaders to explain to the people the benefits of the Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme. He also asked them to counter the Congress-led criticism on the Central government about reservations and honour given to Dr B R Ambedkar. He asked the leaders to strengthen the party base from village-level. He also asked the leaders to hold meetings in every village on April 6, marking the party’s formation day.
He also wanted them to celebrate Babu Jagjivan Ram’s birth anniversary on April 5, Dr Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on April 14, Dr Shyamprakash Mukharjee death anniversary on June 23, Pundit Deenadayal Upadyaya birth anniversary on September 25, Nanaji Deshmukh birth anniversary on October 11, Guru Govind Singh birth anniversary on December 22 in a grand manner. He wanted them to make best use of every occasion to reach to the people and strengthen the party base.
Senior party leaders Daggubati Purandheswari, Kanna Lakshminarayana, Dara Sambaiah, Ministers Kamineni Srinivasa Rao and P Manikyala Rao, MLCs Kanteti Satyanarayana Raju, Somu Veerraju, MLAs Vishnukumara Raju, Akula Satyanarayana and others were present on the occasion.
