More than hundred students representing different colleges took part in the one day national-level symposium on ‘Photon 16’, conducted at Madanapalle Institute of Technology & Science in Madanapalle on April 4. Organised by Department of Basic Sciences & Humanities, it was attended by Dr P S Anil Kumar from Indian Institute of Science, as a chief guest. 

Hyderabad/Chittoor: More than hundred students representing different colleges took part in the one-day national-level symposium on ‘Photon 16’, conducted at Madanapalle Institute of Technology & Science in Madanapalle on April 4. Organised by Department of Basic Sciences & Humanities, it was attended by Dr P S Anil Kumar from Indian Institute of Science, as a chief guest.

During his key note address he called upon the young researchers to explore new avenues throughout their lives as research is a life-long process. While throwing light on ‘sprinctronics’, which is a latest thrust area in physics, he created awareness of the same, among the faculty and students.

‘Sprinctronics’ plays a vital role in computer in designing computer memory, which is being used mobiles, laptops and tablets. So, more research works head to be done on ‘sprinctronics’, he added. A total of 120 students from various colleges across the state took part in the symposium.

Participants have made powerpoint presentations on subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science and English. Later, the winners were awarded with prizes and certificates. MITS Principal Dr C Yuvaraj, vice principals Dr G Hampamma and Dr B Rama Kumar and programme convener Dr M Sudhakar Reddy congratulated all the participants and the winners.
