Visakhapatnam: GITAM Institute of Management is organising a one-day seminar on International Financial Reporting Standards(IFRS), in association with ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) - the global body for professional accountants on GITAM University campus on April 12.

Institute principal Prof K Sivarama Krishna said that the seminar is being organised in view of the majority of countries in the globe now using or adopting International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to improve quality of reporting. The global movement towards IFRS represents a significant change for many corporate entities all over the world. These standards are continuously evolving.

So far, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) are mandated in more than 100 countries worldwide. India has issued its own IFRS equivalent accounting standards, referred to as Ind-AS to be implemented from April 1, thus become critical for finance professionals in India to understand accounting standards in the Ind-AS framework and the related practical application issues.

Accordingly, while covering different IFRS aspects the seminar will also cover important differences between IFRS and corresponding IND-AS in every module. Keynote address and sessions will be delivered by Milind B Date who is having over 27 years experience as practicing Cost and Management accountant and conducting training in the fields of finance, financial analysis and reporting, IFRS for corporate bodies and career students in India, UK, China, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh.

Executives working in finance and accounts, auditors, academicians, research scholars and students pursuing Chartered Accountancy program (ICAI), Management Accounting program (ICMA) or Company Secretary programme (ICSI) are invited to attend the seminar.
