Journalists working in various newspapers and TV channels should update their knowledge in all fields and develop their skills to understand technological changes in the field, suggested BR Ambedkar University (BRAU) Registrar Prof Gunta Tulasi Rao.

Delivering keynote address on the occasion of inauguration of training classes for rural area journalists at Noupada in Tekkali Mandal by APWJF on Saturday, he advised scribes that they should learn things without hesitation and exercise their minds like a wood cutter sharpens the axe timely.

APWJF leader G Anjaneyulu said morality, honesty and reporting of facts would protect journalists in any circumstances. “ Tekkali RDO M Venkateswara Rao said scribes’ duties were very risky and they need protection in some critical situations. Journalist union leaders P Parameswara Rao, S Joginaidu, Ch Laxman Rao, K Venugopal, B Prasada Rao also spoke on the occasion.
