Efforts on to include Chittoor in Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation list

According to official information, District Collector Siddharth Jain has directed Chittoor Municipal Commissioner Suresh to fulfill all the terms and conditions required for achieving the eligibility criteria so that Chittoor city would be included in AMRUT scheme. Meanwhile, Chittoor MLA Satyaprabha and city in-charge Mayor Subramanyam have submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on April 9 during his visit to Chittoor for taking steps to include city in AMRUT list.
District Collector Siddharth Jain has also instructed Chittoor MRO Arun Kumar to be very vigilant while issuing the house site pattas and clearing of encroachments from government lands.
Speaking to The Hans India, MRO Arun Kumar said that they are making efforts to fulfill all eligibility criteria for inclusion of city in AMRUT list. To upgrade Chittoor city, the Collector has instructed officials concerned not to sanction new house pattas in the corporation limits.
Arun Kumar said that the State government has powers to take back the house site pattas if the beneficiaries fail to construct houses in a specific period. He stated that the government has banned to sell patta lands if they were given at free of cost to the beneficiaries by the government. More than 1,500 new ration cards would be distributed to the poor and weaker sections within few days, he added.
