Vijayawada: The State Cabinet decided to promote tourism in the State in a big way and as part of it extended the lease of tourism lands for another 33 years in addition to the existing 33 years.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu presided over the Cabinet meeting here on Monday. Later, disclosing the decisions made at the Cabinet meeting to the media, Chandrababu Naidu stressed the need for developing tourism in big way as it helps to increase employment.
He said that in case of below 10 acres of lands leased to tourism sector, the lease period would be extended for another 33 years.
The Chief Minister said that the State Cabinet decided to allot 600 acres to Hero Motors to set up automobile industry in Sri City to provide employment to 15,000 people. He said 98.58 acres were allotted to wind energy projects in Anantapur district and 16.45 acres was allotted to railways to develop broad gauge line in Guntur. He said 35.1 acres were allotted to IIIT Chittoor and 35.7 acres to e-Pragati to develop people’s hub.
The Chief Minister said the Oracle company came forward to develop people’s hub to provide online facility on the socio economic conditions of all people in the State. He said that the survey would also help to include Kapu community in BC category. All the details of the individuals would be synchronised and integrated in the system. He said a land hub also would be developed on the same lines.
The Chief Minister said of the total 133 departments, 33 departments were computerised so far and all the other departments would also be computerised to curb corruption.
He said all the houses in the State would be provided with internet facility with 15 mbps, telephone and video conference facility by July with the help of AP Fibernet Corporation. The Chief Minister said that he wants to develop the State as Digital AP by setting up separate corporations.
He said that the digitalisation would help to take the power meter reading and the project demonstration is in progress at Visakhapatnam at present. He said the technology would be utilised in an optimum manner for the development of the State.
NTR Mobile Health services from April 20: The Cabinet decided to launch NTR mobile health services from April 20, the birthday of CM N Chandrababu Naidu. As many as 275 mobile health vehicles will be pressed into service. Each vehicle would visit a village twince in a month. The CM said that the urban health centres would be developed under PPP mode.
The CM said that the NATCO company came forward to develop a cancer centre at Guntur Government general hospital at a cost of Rs 16.5 cr.
