23 crore sanctioned to desilt 673 tanks, says Pulla Rao

He said that agriculture department state offices would be set up in the temporary secretariat complex in Velgapudi. He said that the government had taken steps to desilt the irrigation tanks to improve groundwater levels. He said that he had sanctioned Rs 23 crore to desilt 673 irrigation tanks to improve groundwater levels.
The government had taken up Neeru-Chettu programme to improve groundwater level and warned that the government would take stern
action, if irrigation tanks were encroached. He said that the officials conducted 5-lakh soil tests in the state. MLA Modugula Venugopala Reddy and Collector Kantilal Dande participated.
