Rajamahendravaram: The Central government should come to the rescue of Andhra Pradesh, which was facing financial crunch, TDP senior leader Ganni Krishna said. He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fulfil his promise of providing unconditional support to the State which he had made at a public meeting in Tirupati before the general elections.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Ganni Krishna wondered why the assurances given in the State Reorganisation Act are not being fulfilled. However, he declined comments made by the BJP leaders that the TDP is hijacking the Central government’s schemes and telling the people that those schemes as State government schemes.

He reminded that the TDP and BJP had promised to the people before the elections that they would strive for the development of Andhra Pradesh which suffered huge losses due to bifurcation, but to no avail. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is striving to fulfil the poll promises. He advised the Opposition parties to work for the development of the State instead of levelling allegations against the government.
