All libraries to be modernised in Krishna district

Giving details to the newsmen of general body meeting held at Tagore Library here on Friday, Venkata Ramaiah said that an annual budget of Rs 50 lakh was sanctioned for the renovation works of Tagore Library and measures will be taken by the officials to make it ready for the convenience of public before Krishna Pushkarams.
Listing out the budgetary allocations for the fiscal years 2016-17, said that Rs 2.58 crore was earmarked for new library buildings, Rs 1 crore for purchasing books, Rs 1.2 crore for purchasing new computers, Rs 15 lakh for solar system installation, Rs 6 lakh for air conditioners and Rs 25 lakh for furniture and amenities in libraries.
A sum of Rs 7 lakh was allocated for introduction of the bio metric attendance system in all libraries, he said. Krishna Zilla Grandhalaya Samastha secretary Matta Jhansi Rani, committee members R Ramakoteswara Rao, V Mallikharjuna Rao, Sk Habbibula and others were also present on the occasion.
