Under the aegis of Anantha Lakshmi Institute of Technology and Sciences (ALITS), two rainwater harvesting structures were constructed at its premises here on Thursday. The ALITS also constructed two structures in Itukalapalli village. JNTU Anantapur Registrar S Krishnayya graced the occasion as chief guest and explained the scientific method of constructing the structures.

Anantapur: Under the aegis of Anantha Lakshmi Institute of Technology and Sciences (ALITS), two rainwater harvesting structures were constructed at its premises here on Thursday. The ALITS also constructed two structures in Itukalapalli village. JNTU Anantapur Registrar S Krishnayya graced the occasion as chief guest and explained the scientific method of constructing the structures.

The institute chairman M Anantaramudu said that as many rainwater harvesting structures as possible would be built to make the most of every drop of rain that falls on earth. He administered an oath to 3,000 students asking them to sensitise their parents for a construction of rainwater harvesting structures.

He exhorted students to take upon the construction of rainwater harvesting structures with a missionary zeal. Institute Director M Ramesh Nayudu and principal Dr Bandi Ramesh Babu, Itukalapalli sarpanch Peddi Reddy and others present.

Bus services for EAMCET aspirants
The ALITS management has informed that the institute is pressing buses into service from RTC bus stand in Anantapur, Arts College, Kalyanadurgam bypass road, Vidyut Nagar Circle and from RTC bus station at Dharmavaram for the benefit of students, who are writing the EAMCET exam at the ALITS centre. The buses will start at 7.45 am.
