Cops harassing innocent: BJP
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders alleged that Vijayawada police are harassing innocent people by foisting call money cases to protect a travel agency management which took loans and trying to evade the loans in the name of call money cases. Speaking to media persons here on Friday, BJP city president D Umamaheswara Raju.
Vijayawada: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders alleged that Vijayawada police are harassing innocent people by foisting call money cases to protect a travel agency management which took loans and trying to evade the loans in the name of call money cases. Speaking to media persons here on Friday, BJP city president D Umamaheswara Raju said that the city police are trying to shield a private travels management, which took loans from some persons to the tune of Rs 15 crore, and defaulted.
The police are said to be converting the case as call money case and harassing the leaders with the influence of ruling party leaders.The BJP leader said the police foisted cases on some lenders and forcefully made them withdraw cases on the travel agency. He asked the City Police Commissioner to replace the team of police officials investigating the call money case and hand over the case to CID.
Former MLA Vellampalli Srinivas also appealed to the State government to hand over the call money case to CID for the impartial inquiry. Bharatiya Janata Party State leader Adapa Nagendram said that they would meet Union Home Minister to file a report on the harassment of innocent people in call money case.
