Visakhapatnam: Municipal Commissioner Praveen Kumar informed that necessary steps are being taken to make Vizag as an Open
Defecation-Free (ODF) City by October 2 on Gandhi Jayanti for which ODF-Sanitation Committees will be set up to monitor the progress.
Speaking at an awareness meeting held here on Wednesday, Praveen Kumar asked the officials to complete the formation of committees
and to hold review meetings with them by May-end. He also assured that citations and encouragement will be given on State festival
days to all those municipal workers and voluntary bodies which function with commitment in making the city as ODF.
He also asked to create awareness among the people and the municipal staff about the GVMC’s concept of making the city ODF.
