Kadapa: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has appreciated farmers, who have selected horticultural crops so as to overcome the water scarcity problem in drought-hit Rayalaseema region.

As part of his tour to Kadapa city, the Chief Minister visited stalls set up by the departments including Horticulture, Agriculture, Drip Irrigation and Irrigation at Municipal High School grounds here on Saturday. He asked the officials about the irrigation methods adopted for banana and mango crops and yield results at the stalls erected by Horticulture and Agriculture departments. He also spoke to commissioner of Andhra Pradesh Micro Irrigation Project (APMIP) Chiranjeevi Chowdary about subsidy provided to farmers and supply of sprinklers from Drip Irrigation department. The Chief Minister inaugurated LCD set up on surface dam by Irrigation department and patiently observed the content in it.

Earlier, TDP district leaders and Ministers Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Prathipati Pulla Rao, Rajya Sabha MP CM Ramesh, State Civil Supplies department chairman Linga Reddy, MLAs Adinarayana Reddy, Jayaramulu, MLC B Pullaiah, former MLC P Narsimha Reddy, former Minister Khaleel Bhasha and district officials extended warm welcome to Chandrababu Naidu at the airport.
