Tirupati: Governor ESL Narasimhan will kick start the year-long Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi Utsavalu (RSU) being taken up by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on the occasion of the millennium year of the proponent of Vaishnavism here on May 10. According to TTD Executive Officer D Sambasiva Rao, the inaugural ceremony of RSU will be held in Mahathi Auditorium here at 10 am on May 10 preceded by the launching of Ramanuja Sanchara Ratham (RSR) at Tirumala on the same day, aimed at covering 106 Vaishana Divya Desams (holy places of Vaishnavites) in various states.
Rao said that plans are afoot to celebrate the Ramanuja Sahasrabdi on a rich and grand scale. The TTD Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad would organise competitions for school children and international seminars on Ramanuja’s philosophy, as part of the year-long celebrations beginning from May.
