Visakhapatnam: Vidya Ratham, the traditional educating chariot for the underprivileged, rolled its wheels once again this summer. Around 60 children participated in the camp. The tradition began in 2014 with an aim to educate, empower and enrich the skills of underprivileged children.

Interact Club members of Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan initiated the yeoman service. Children learnt mathematics tricks, about cleanliness, logical reasoning, classroom discipline, magic tricks and drawing, art and craft, moral values, painting and puzzles at the camp.

Vidyaratham bus reaches their homes to collect the underprivileged children and drops them ensuring their safety, after the activities. The programme concluded on Tuesday.

S. Venkateswara Rao, District Transport Commissioner, addressing a gathering stressed the need of importance of education and social behaviour. A H Khan, RTO, in his remarks, reiterated the significance of education combined with co-curricular activities, games, and sports. Children showcased their talents and exhibited the models which they had learnt during the Vidyaratham summer camp.
