Vizianagaram: TDP took the people for a ride by not fulfilling its poll promises, alleged YSRCP. The party leaders staged a dharna in front of the Collectorate here on Tuesday and stated that public will teach a lesson to the TDP for cheating them.

“Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has assured the people that he would provide lakhs of jobs to youth and will bring Special Status to Andhra Pradesh. But so far he did not implement any one of the promises and could not bring Special Status. Naidu was ignoring the public welfare and working for the benefit of his supporters,” the YSRCP leaders lamented.

Though the Andhra Pradesh has right to function from Hyderabad for 10 years, due to cash-vote-scam, Naidu has walked out of the city and now spending thousands of crores of rupees for new capital. Even the TDP government is not demanding the Union government for Special Status, which will bring more benefits to industrial investors, they lamented.

MLA K Veerabhadra Swamy, former minister P Sambasivaraju, MLA P Pushpa Srivani and others participated in the protest.

Srikakulam: The YSRCP leaders flayed the Central government for not granting Special Status to Andhra Pradesh and the State governments for failing to exert pressure on the NDA government in this regard. The party leaders and activists staged a dharna in front of the Collectorate on Tuesday and tried to lay siege to the Collectorate, but police foiled their attempt.

Speaking on the occasion, YSRCP leaders Tammineni Sitaram, R Shanthi, K Jogulu, V Kalyani and others criticised the TDP on its failure to get Special Status.
