Kurnool: The YSRCP chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy warned the AP government, that his fight for water will continue if solution was not sought. He will wait for a month or two for the problem to get resolved. But if the situation remains the same, fight will begin again. This time he would stage the deeksha for River Godavari water in Polavaram.

  • Says will wait for two months for TDP govt to halt these projects or will go on fast again in Polavaram
  • Terms Naidu an ‘Incapable CM’ who is unable to stop TS govt from constructing illegal projects
  • Accuses the TS govt of diverting 70k cusecs of Godavari water causing severe crisis in AP

The three-day Jala Deeksha concluded on Wednesday as Jagan who sipped the lemon juice extended by the farmers who came from far off places and ended his fast in Kurnool.

Addressing the gathering on the third day, Jagan lashed out at Naidu over his failure to curb unlawfully initiated irrigation projects by the TS government. It is our bad luck to have such an incapable CM for our State, who could not even utter a word over the illegal constructions taken up by the TS government with PM Modi.

Jagan said Naidu might fear of his cases, if stressed, he would be sent to jail on note-for-vote case. And if dares Modi, Naidu could face CBI enquiry for his corruption to his 24 months ruling, Jagan slammed.

Jagan expressed anguish over the indiscriminate usage of water by the TS government. AP receives water after the Karnataka and Maharastra projects get filled and in these circumstances, if TS takes up construction on Godavari and Krishna rivers, how the downstream people will get water, he lamented.

Around 70,000 cusecs of water was being diverted from Godavari by the TS government due to this the downstream ayacut has dried up. Four districts of Rayalaseema besides Prakasam and Nellore have to face water crisis if Srisailam doesn’t get water.

He urged for proportionate water usage and strict monitoring every fortnight. He also warned that he would fight for Godavari waters and will stage another deeksha at Polavaram.
