The ruling TDP in Andhra Pradesh has decided to allot votes for a BJP candidate in the Rajya Sabha poll. However, the candidate is to be chosen from AP.

The decision has been conveyed to the BJP on Monday. While TDP is in a position to win three RS seats on its own, going from the strength in the AP assembly, the party is set with two and plans to transfer the votes for the third to the BJP.

The BJP is likely to have a chance in AP if TDP votes are transferred to it and now as to who the party would nominate the candidate is to be looked out for. Meanwhile, BJP has already nominated Union Minister Nirmala Sitaraman from Karnataka and Venkaiah Naidu from Rajasthan.
