Experts draft resolution to revive Telugu language

The event which is organised in association with the Vijayawada Cultural and Literary organisations and NTR Trust is inaugurated by the chairman of the Official Language Commission Mandali Buddha Prasad.

Vijayawada: The one-day Telugu Basha Samskruthika Sammelanam concluded on a grand note at the Sesha Sai function hall here on Tuesday, with experts drafting a resolution on how to revive Telugu language. The event which is organised in association with the Vijayawada Cultural and Literary organisations and NTR Trust is inaugurated by the chairman of the Official Language Commission Mandali Buddha Prasad.

Three sessions were designed for the programme to discuss art, language, culture and tradition; where poets, writers, artisans, painters, teachers, laureates, artists and educationalists from across south India participated. During the first session, topics such as the evolution of Telugu language, Telugu university, Telugu Akademi, Official Language Commission, an establishment of Sahitya Academy, archives, archaeological department and Telugu as a medium of teaching were discussed.

Evolution of Telugu culture- government’s initiatives and empowerment, music and dance colleges, Telugu university, Language department and others were discussed in the second session. In the concluding session, teaching Telugu language to people living in other parts of the country, designing programmes that motivate interest in the language were discussed.

A few journals and books were released on the occasion. The organising committee members drafted a few resolutions which they wanted to submit to the government to revive the prominence of Telugu language. In the valedictory session, Nara Lokesh and Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy felicitated Mandali Buddha Prasad and his wife Vijaya Lakshmi on his 60th birthday, which is commemorated by organising the Telugu Basha Samskruthika Sammelanam.

NTR Trust Secretary Peddi Rama Rao, vice presidents Guthikonda Subba Rao, Andhra Arts Academy secretary Golla Narayana Rao, Archaeologist E Sivanagi Reddy, organising committee member G V Purnachandu, veteran journalist Turlapati Kutumba Rao, and other socialites were present.
