​Gannavaram (Krishna): In a rare case, two siblings lodged a complaint at Veeravalli police station against their parents for pressurising them to discontinue studies and work as labours.

According to police, Mohammed Shannu (12) and Siddhu (9) studying sixth and fourth class in Sitaramapuram village of Bapulapadu mandal alleged that their father Md Akram, an auto driver in Eluru and mother Sirisha were pressurising them to discontinue studies, citing they cannot meet the expenses.

It is said that Akram, who was addicted to vices has been harassing his children for some time and unable to bear the harassment, the two siblings approached the police.

Veeravalli SI on Wednesday said that Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan came forward to bear all the educational expenses of the children. “The MLA who is in Europe, spoke to me over phone and asked me to protect the siblings from their parents,” he added.
