Withdraw GO which diluted powers of grama panchayats
Vice-Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Chamber M Appala Naidu addressing the media here on Wednesday demanded the government to withdraw the GO which diluted the powers of grama panchayats.
Vizianagaram: The Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Chamber alleged that the State government is diluting the panchat raj system by minimising its powers and responsibilities.
Vice-Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Chamber M Appala Naidu addressing the media here on Wednesday demanded the government to withdraw the GO which diluted the powers of grama panchayats.
The GO 101, which was released recently, diluted the powers of grama panchayats and as per the GO mandal parishads will conduct meetings to select beneficiaries under various schemes.
The BC, SC and ST beneficiaries will be selected at the mandal-level under the supervision of Janmabhoomi Committee members, who belongs to TDP. He alleged that panel members are taking decisions to protect their personal interests.
