Rampachodavaram: Local ITDA Project Officer K V N Chakradhar Babu on Friday directed the officials to take up time-bound programme of planting saplings in 1,000 acres in each mandal by July 30 in coordination with the special officers of Horticulture department and MPDOs.

Babu was addressing a review meeting with the special officers of mandals tahsildars MGNREGS and Horticulture department staff on raising horticulture plantations malaria spraying NTR Housing Scheme school admissions and issue of caste certificates.

The ITDA PO directed the officials to take up sapling plantation programme in the Agency area on the lines of the recently launched Nava Nirmana Deeksha by appointing the staff each to cover five acres. He said prizes would be awarded to the winners of competitions to be organised in connection with the programme.

Later going round the farm ponds constructed under the MGNREGS and watershed schemes in Wadapally Bhimavaram and Bandapalli villages Babu stressed the need for providing irrigation facilities if agriculture operations are to become profitable.

He said farm ponds would help boost water levels in borewells and benefit farmers in the hour of need.

The ITDA PO while addressing the first year intermediate admission counselling programme in local Girijan Welfare Gurukul Junior College announced that the government would strive
to run the classes through video facility.
