Make SC youth job ready Jupudi

Anantapur: Scheduled Caste Finance Corporation chairman Jupudi Prabhakar Rao asked corporation officials to focus on imparting skill development training to SC educated youth to make them job-ready.

He pointed out that Japan Singapore and South Korea planning was planning to set up industries in Amaravati capital region shortly.
Addressing an awareness meeting of SC beneficiaries at the local ZP Hall here on Friday Prabhakar said that the educated SC youth should upgrade their skills in order to compete with others to secure jobs in the multi-national companies.

The SC Corporation, he said was preparing a plan of action to generate 1 lakh jobs through the SC Corporation, and as part of the strategy skill development would be given topmost priority.

He said that the Chief Minister had made him the chairman of the corporation with Rs1000 crore budget and he would not lag behind in working to the expectations of the former.

He said that Rs 60 crore was spent on SC development in 2015-16 year and in 2016-17 year it would likely to shoot up to Rs 100 crore. He appealed to bankers to cooperate in grounding the self employment schemes for the poor SC sections.

There were complaints that banks were not coming forward to give even 40 per cent of the loan component, when the SC Corporation is giving 60 per cent of the loan as subsidy. He lamented that while industrialists like Vijay Mallya were taking the banks for a ride, the bankers have apprehensions to sanction 40 per cent of the loan component.

He asked department officials to directly purchase one acre of land to the farmers with the subsidy amount of Rs 2 lakh if land was available at Rs 2 lakh per acre.

District Collector Kona Sasidhar revealed that 13 skill development centres are being set up in all the assembly segments for the SC youth.
