The Chittoor MLA inaugurated a mango expo at TTD Kalyana Mandapam here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Satyaprabha stated that the government had waived farm loans up to Rs 46,000 crore till now despite State is running on a deficit budget after bifurcation.  The MLA reiterated that the Chief Minister is very keen to develop Chittoor district as a horticulture hub. 

Chittoor: MLA D K Satyaprabha said that the TDP government is committed to welfare of farming community as it had allocated more funds to agriculture sector in the budget.

The Chittoor MLA inaugurated a mango expo at TTD Kalyana Mandapam here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Satyaprabha stated that the government had waived farm loans up to Rs 46,000 crore till now despite State is running on a deficit budget after bifurcation.
The MLA reiterated that the Chief Minister is very keen to develop Chittoor district as a horticulture hub.

She mentioned that Chandrababu Naidu has been working 18 hours a day for State development. She gave a call to people and government employees to strengthen hands of the Chief Minister for
accelerating growth in AP.

Satyaprabha exhorted farmers to raise horticulture crops on par with mango orchards. She exuded confidence that district will become the largest exporter of mangoes in the country as mango crop was raised in 80,000 hectares.

TDP district president G Srinivasulu has appreciated the Chief Minister for introducing Israel technology in Kuppam Assembly constituency in 1995 for better farm yield.

He stated that Chandrababu Naidu took a bold decision to divert water from Pattiseema Project to Kuppam segment through Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanti branch canal by spending Rs 480 crore.

Srinivasulu said that 1.5 lakh soak pits were dug in the district till now. He pointed out that 80,000 farm ponds will be constructed shortly across the district.

Joint Collector 2 Venkata Subba Reddy exhorted farmers to reduce usage of chemical fertilisers and pesticides for better yield. A farmer association leader Jayachandra Chowdary flayed the Agriculture department for not releasing input subsidy amount to farmers
in time.

In-charge Mayor Subramanyam, Deputy Director of Horticulture Dharmaja, Assistant Director of Horticulture Subhashini and others were present. More than 15 varieties of mangos were kept for display in the expo and it will conclude on Saturday.
