Rajamahendravaram: Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham, who has been on an indefinite fast for past seven days, has finally agreed for medical treatment. He has not only allowed the doctors to take his blood samples but also agreed for injecting fluids.

This breakthrough came after several rounds of talks District Collector H Arun Kumar, Visakha range DIG Srikanth, East Godavari SP Ravi Prakash and Rajamahendravaram urban SP B Raja Kumari had with Kapu JAC and the family members of Mudragada here on Wednesday.

Rajamahendravaram city MLA Dr Akula Satyannarayana told the media that they had explained to the Kapu leader that the government was willing to stop further arrests and may not object for bail to 13 activists who were arrested.

They also told him that it may even go in for a fresh probe into the incident before initiating any action. Later, Visakha range DIG Srikanth told the media that further action would be taken only after thorough and comprehensive investigation was conducted into Tuni incidents.

Answering to a question on the release of the arrested persons, he said that the issue was in court and it was for them to take a decision. Meanwhile, co-brother of Mudragada Padmanabham, Sivaji told The Hans India that they are moving court for bail for the arrested persons and urged the government not to oppose the bail of the arrested people.
