Kapu Leader Mudragada Padmanabham who has been on an indefinite hunger strike over a week now is still not ready give up the Deeksha.

However, the AP Ministers on Wednesday stated that the Kapu leader has agreed to take the fluids after he was assured of a thorough investigation in Tuni incident. Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister N Chinnarajappa stated that by taking fluids, it indicates the hunger strike being called off.

On the other hand, Mudragada's son Balu revealed that the Kapu leader has not given up his Deeksha, adding that Mudragada only agreed to take blood samples and a saline bottle. He later clarified that Mudragada would call off the hunger strike only if his demands are fulfilled.

The Kapu leader launched the Deeksha demanding the release of those arrested in connection with the Ratnachal Express burning case in Tuni along with the implementation of reservations to his community.
