The Minister speaking to mediapersons said, the government is distributing Chandranna Ramadan Tohfa to 12 lakh Muslims in the State and two lakh Muslims in Kurnool would receive the festival gift, she said.
Kurnool: The Minister for Civil Supplies Paritala Sunitha said ahead of Ramadan festival, the government has intended to extend Chandranna Ramadan Tohfa to the Muslims from next month. During her visit to Atmakur the Minister rested at Kurnool guest house on Friday.
The Minister speaking to mediapersons said, the government is distributing Chandranna Ramadan Tohfa to 12 lakh Muslims in the State and two lakh Muslims in Kurnool would receive the festival gift, she said.
Each card holder will get 5 kgs of wheat flour, 2 kgs of sugar, and 1 kg of vermicelli and 100 grams of ghee.
Sunitha said, a commission of 50 paisa was enhanced for the dealers, whereas the dealers were demanding an honorarium of Rs 25,000 per month. She assured to discuss the issue with the government for a solution.
She said 44 Chenchu hamlets have been identified under 14 mandals at Atmakur and all the Chenchu families would be facilitated with the AAY cards.
As part of this, around 1,000 families would get the benefits. Later, she left for Atmakur to distribute AAY cards. The District Collector Vijaya Mohan, Joint Collector Hari Kiran were present.
