Chittoor: Collector Siddarth Jain expressed happiness over the improvement in Class X pass percentage of government schools in the district.

Speaking at the Badi Pilostondi programme held here on Thursday, he said the pass percentage of the government schools had gone up from 73 per cent in 2015 to whopping 90 per cent in 2016.

Highlighting the need to cut down the increasing dropouts, he emphasised that teachers should make it a point to admit all dropout students.

Zilla Parishad chairperson Girvani Chandra Prakash, Chittoor MLA D A Satya Prabha, MLC Y Srinivasulu Reddy, In-charge Chittoor Mayor Subramanayam were present on the occasion.
