Tirupati: Prajasakti staff reporter V Gopi bagged VR Bomma Reddy Memorial Best Journalist award for the year 2016 while senior journalist Dasari Alwar Swamy was chosen for the Moturi Hanumantha Rao Memorial Best Journalist award and Dandapani selected for Best Rural Reporter award.
The awards were presented at the 15th death anniversary celebrations of Moturi Hanumantha Rao held in Anantapur on Saturday. Gopi, who is working as bureau chief in Prajasakti at Tirupati, was selected for his special stories with in depth field study on various public and burning issues.
Information and Public Relations Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy, MLC Geyanand, veteran journalists Raghavachari, Pothuri Venkateswara Rao, Prajasakti Sahithi Samstha chairman V Krishnaiah, Prajasakti Editor Paturu Ramayya, executive editor S Venkat Rao and others were present. Every year Prajasakti daily giving the awards to its reporters based on their meritorious performance to promote excellence in the field.
