ā€‹Chittoor: Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Abhishek Mohanty gave a call to policemen to practise yoga to overcome stress and discharge duties effectively. About 600 police personnel along with their families have performed yoga asanas at District Police Office here on Tuesday, on the occasion of International Yoga Day.

Addressing the police personnel, the ASP said that 90 per cent of diseases can be averted by practising yoga every day. He stated that instructions were given to officials concerned to conduct yoga classes regularly for policemen. He made an appeal to police personnel to make it a habit for taking part in yoga classes. He said that the government has initiated various welfare measures for the
benefit of police families.

The ASP said that District SP G Srinivas gave instructions to police personnel to practise yoga in their respective police stations. Sharing his personal experience, Abhishek Mohanty said that he has been practicing yoga from his school days. Later, he interacted with police officials and asked them to make yoga as part of their lives. Additional SP (Armed Reserve) Sekhar, DSPs Lakshmi Naidu, Ramkumar, Ramakrishnaiah, Ramanaiah and Devadas, CIs, SIs and administrative staff were present.
