Narsapuram (West Godavari): Additional District and Sessions Judge P Kalyan Rao at Narsapuram on Friday served a contempt notice on TDP MLA Bandaru Madhava Naidu for his alleged unruly behaviour with him and some lawyers over removal of encroachments from the court premises in the town.

The notice signed by Kalyan Rao said the ‘intemperate’ behavior of the MLA was tantamount to undermining the stature of judiciary.

Kalyana Rao issued a contempt notice to Narsapuram MLA Bandaru Madhava Naidu of Telugu Desam Party for improper behavior towards him and some lawyers when they were overseeing the removal of encroachments on a road leading to the Court Complex on August 15, 2015. The Judge directed the MLA to appear in his court on July 1.

It is said that the MLA, along with his brother Bandaru Patel Naidu and 25 followers, reached the spot and obstructed the Additional District and Sessions Judge from discharging his duties.

Kalyan Rao also issued a contempt notice to West Godavari Superintendent of Police Bhaskar Bhushan, DSP G Poornachandra Rao, Inspector of Police P Ramachandra Rao and SI Yugandar Kiran for failing to file a charge-sheet against the MLA and his brother even after 22 months after the incident took place and directed the police officials to appear personally in his court on July 1.

The Judge pointed out that Narsapuram police have failed to take appropriate action against MLA Bandaru Madhava Naidu and his brother Bandaru Patel Naidu, who failed to respond to first show-cause notice served on them. He said that the SP, DSP, Inspector of police and SI also failed to reply to a show-cause notice issued against them.
