Heavy rain lashes Eluru

Eluru: Heavy downpour lashed the tiny town of Eluru on Sunday evening. The rain started at 5 pm and continued till 10 in the night. Due to heavy rain, normal life was badly hit in the city.

This was the first time Eluru people witnessed heavy rain. All the roads in Powerpet, Kothapet, RR Pet and NR Pet were inundated. People had to wade in knee-deep water stagnated on roads.

Vehicle riders had also faced tough time to cross roads clogged with rain water. The traffic on national highway was also disrupted. The rain continued even after 10 in the night.
