District Collector turns into an enumerator

Pamidi (Anantapur): District Collector Kona Sasidhar participated in the ‘People's Empowerment Survey' at Pogaruru village in Pamidi mandal and turned into an enumerator by visiting several homes in the village to personally collect data and explain the objective of the survey. He advised people against entertaining apprehensions on the motive of the survey and clarified that it was not aimed at deleting anybody's names from the social security benefits being extended to them.

The Collector visited the house of an old widow Talari Sanjamma and enquired about her well being and also on the benefits she is getting or not getting from the government. He uploaded the information into the tab personally and went on with the enumeration. He visited several homes and collected the data and uploaded in the tab.

Joint Collector Lakshmikantham, RDO Malola, Sarpanch Bramhananda Reddy, master trainee Thimappa and enumerator Niranjan accompanied the Collector. He said that the survey was part of sample survey undertaken in selected mandals to ensure that the actual district wide survey planned from July 6-30 goes on hassle-free. He said that 2,200 enumerators were participating in the survey. Training was imparted to tahsildars, RDOs and others to create awareness on the technicalities of the survey, he said
