He was the chief guest to the workshop on Telugu Ghazals organised by Ghazal Charitable Trust and Prakasam Rachayitala Sangham, here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion Srinivas said, “The Ghazal Charitable Trust is organising workshops since 2005 for the popularising the format in Telugu. More than 3,200 people have learned about ghazal writing and are practicing it now. Telugu ghazal has given me everything and made me a multi-millionaire. I wish to see the writers of the ghazals earning on par with the performers. It is my dream to create demand for the writers.”

Srinivas explained his future plans to the participants and said that the ghazal lovers can read them in a mobile app soon. “Apart from the online ghazal radio, which we are working, a mobile app will be launched in a month. We are going to construct a School of Performing Arts in a sprawling two acre land by 2018,” he informed.

Many ghazal lovers participated in the workshop, where popular writers like Dr Rentala Srivenkateswara Rao, Rasa Raju, Dr SRS Kolluri, and MBD Syamala shared their knowledge and gave tips on writing a ghazal. A mushaira was conducted with the writers and performers at the end of the workshop. MLC Magunta Srinivasula Reddy, MLA Damacharla Janardhan and others were present.
