Harassment drives girl to suicide
An 18-year-old girl Roja committed suicide allegedly, unable to bear the harassment of a youth, in the house of her relative in Krishnapuram village in Punganur mandal on Saturday.
Madanapalle (Chittoor): An 18-year-old girl Roja committed suicide allegedly, unable to bear the harassment of a youth, in the house of her relative in Krishnapuram village in Punganur mandal on Saturday.
Roja, who attempted suicide by consuming poisonous substance, was admitted in Madanapalle Government Hospital where she died while undergoing treatment. In the complaint to Madanapalle rural police, the victim’s parents Venkataramana and Ramanamma said that G Venkata Narayana (21) had been harassing their daughter since four months which ultimately forced her to end her life.
The family is living in Palamkonda village in Madanapalle rural and the accused youth also from the same village. Police registered a case and took up investigation.
