Amaravati: TDP Guntur urban district president Bonaboina Srinivasa Yadav and BJP leader Ratna Kumar on Wednesday filed their nominations for the posts of Guntur Co-operative Urban Bank director post.

Bank sitting chairman Kottamasu Srinivasa Rao tried to file nomination with the support of BJP leader Kanna Lakshminarayana. But he did not file his nomination. Similarly, YSRCP failed to field its candidate in the election.

When the two BJP, TDP leaders decided to file nomination, MLAs Alapati Rajendra Prasad, Modugula VenugopalaReddy, Anagani Satya Prasad rushed to the bank premises. YSRCP MLA Mustafa rushed to the spot.

When the leaders of various political parties and their followers gathered at one place, tension prevailed. The police did not allow YSRCP leaders inside of the bank to file nomination. The TDP and YSRCP activists pushed one another.

They raised slogans against each other. Police swung into action and brought the situation under control. They cordoned off the bank premises. July 22 is the last date for withdrawing nominations. After that, election will results will be declared.
