15 injured in clash over SMC election
Fifteen persons were injured, five of them seriously, when two groups clashed during school management committee (SMC) election at Mandapam village in Sankhavaram mandal on Monday.

Two of the injured were admitted to Kakinada Government Hospital as their condition was said to be serious.
The incident took place immediately after the government high school opened and the headmaster announced the election schedule.
The two rival groups belonging to YSRCP and TDP entered the school and started assaulting each other with sticks and iron rods and did not allow the headmaster to proceed with the election schedule.
Police rushed to the spot after on learning of the incident and shifted the injured to Tuni and Kakinada hospitals.
