Vijayawada: The CPI here on Monday demanded that the Chief Minister come forward to work with Opposition to strongly project “single agenda” before the Centre over special category status issue, leaving the ego behind. The party leaders wanted even TDP to participate in the Statewide bandh on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters here, CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna felt that the TDP should participate in bandh to demonstrate unity and strength of people over achieving special status. “The Chief Minister should acknowledge the need to stick to single agenda on this key issue,” he said.

He found fault with the contention of Chief Minister that there was no need for an all-party delegation to go to Delhi, and only TDP MPs would meet Prime Minister on the issue.
