Tirumala: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer Dr D Sambasiva Rao said on Friday that the TTD collected record revenue from Seeghra Darshan and Srivari hundi in July month.

Before receiving calls from the pilgrims during the monthly ‘Dial Your EO’ programme held here, the EO briefed on the achievements made by TTD in the last one month which included sale 6.27 lakh tickets each Rs 300 ‘Seeghra Darshan’ tickets. The TTD netted an income of Rs 97.09 crore through hundi offering in the same month, he added.

The TTD EO also informed the pilgrims that on the lines of Seeghra Darshan Complex, Divya Darshan Compelx meant for pedestrian pilgrims will be constructed before annual Brahmotsavams and Sarvadarshan Complex in the next phase.

Replying to a caller, Lakshmi Narasaiah from Vanasthalipuram, who performed Parakamani Seva in TTD earlier on the piled up foreign currency, the EO said that the TTD has already approached a reputed management institute on how to sort out the problem. ‘Very soon this issued will be sorted out,” he added.

A caller from Mysore requested the TTD EO to set up a replica temple of Lord Venkateswara in Mysore also, for which the EO replied that if the local devotees or local administration come up with allotment of land then the TTD will construct a temple on the lines of Kanyakumari and Kurukshetra.

But, it is not possible for us to set up on our own in every place,” he maintained. A pilgrim wanted the EO to ensure the employees on duty should have identity cards, for which the EO replied it will be taken care of.

Another caller complained of abnormal rates being charged by some hotels in Tirumala and sought him to initiate compulsory display of rate charts for the sake of the pilgrims.

The EO assured him of resolving the issue. But, the EO also urged the pilgrims to have annaprasadam in Vengamamba Complex run by TTD.
