Chittoor: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has given instructions to the Ministers and officials not to allow single acre of crop dried up in the district. Speaking to the media at Command Control Centre here on Friday, Narayana said rain guns were distributed extensively in the district to save the groundnut crops from withering in an extent of 68,000 acres.

The Minister said that the Chief Minister gave instructions to take wetting of groundnut crops in second phase from September 10 so that farmers get 100 per cent yield. Narayana stated that rain guns experiment has proved successful.

Groundnut crop was saved from withering due to the team work of Ministers, IAS officers and district officials,” he added. District in-charge Minister said that farmers were expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister for saving them from a major crisis.
