BC Commission public hearing in Chittoor

Chittoor: The BC Commission led by its chairman Justice Manjunath visited Maddipatla village in Irala mandal and Narasingapuram village in Chandragiri mandal and interacted with various sections of BC community.

BC Commission member Prof Subramanyam interacting with the leaders and representatives of various sections in Maddipatla village said that the commission has received representations to include their castes into BC category.

He made it clear that the commission is meant to justify all the cases subject to the condition of their eligibility. He said that the commission would receive all the representations and examine the possibility for including in the BC category ensuring justice to the downtrodden sections.

Janaki Ram, a resident of Narasingapuram, explained the living conditions of the BCs in his village. Certain Balija leaders of the village appealed to the commission to include Ballija caste in the BC list.

Some of the leaders of BCs have made an appeal to the commission not to entertain the other castes for inclusion in the BC list as injustice would be rendered for the existing castes like Yadava, Eeediga, Kummari, Kammari , Chakali, Mutharasi and others as 80 per cent of BCs are still leading their lives as labourers. BC Corporation executive director Srinivasulu and others were present.

State BC Commission chairman Justice Manjunath visited Kanipakam temple, along with the committee members Prof Subramanayam, Prof Purnachndra Rao and Prof Satyanarayana, on Tuesday. Assistant commissioner and executive officer of temple P Purnachandra Rao received the BC Commission chairman and members with temple honours.

Additional Joint Collector P Venkatasubba Reddy, Chittoor RDO Kodanda Rami Reddy and other officials accompanied the BC Commission chairman and members, while the executive officer Purchandra Rao explained the significance of the temple and its development schemes to Justice Manjunath.
